Ohio Medicaid and the Governor's Office of Health Transformation (OHT) are leading an effort to modernize and simplify eligibility processes for health and human services programs. Ohio's Client Registry Information System - Enhanced (CRIS-E) System, which helps to determine eligibility for Medicaid and other public assistance programs, is more than 30 years old. Fragmented and outdated, CRIS-E is not capable of meeting the processing standards needed for determining eligibility in the coming years.
A new eligibility system is currently being established and implemented that will streamline state and local responsibility for eligibility determination and modernize system technology. Once fully launched, the new integrated eligibility system will improve the experience of individuals seeking assistance and significantly reduce the costs associated with determining eligibility.Visit http://medicaid.ohio.gov for additional information or call the Medicaid Consumer Hotline at (800) 324-8680.
